If you had to start over, which professional path would you choose—corporate work or entrepreneurship—and why?
My corporate experience, including my time at IBM, and management experience at organizations like The Tata Group, Network 18, The Birla Group, provided a strong foundation for my later entrepreneurial ventures. The discipline and professional ethos gained in the corporate world laid a robust groundwork for my entrepreneurial pursuits. If I were to start over, I’d follow the same path. In today’s rapidly evolving professional landscape, both corporate and entrepreneurial experiences contribute to growth. Adaptability and flexibility are key!
Describe the toughest hurdle you have faced in your professional life and how you overcame it.
The most significant challenge was transitioning from a corporate career with a clear trajectory to the uncertainties in the world of freelancing, consulting, and thereafter, entrepreneurship. It required a mental shift and a period of self-exploration. It was more a mental hurdle than anything else, and it took time to fully embrace this change.
Can you describe the brand of your initiative BATTLE OF VOICES and your role?
The Battle of Voices was born from a casual conversation about podcasts with Dr. Amit Nagpal and Mr. Devendra Jaiswal. We decided to experiment with the idea of a podcast competition open to everyone, with a special focus on students and working professionals. This joint initiative by Bloggers Alliance and Voice of Achievers aimed to bring podcast storytelling to the forefront. Our virtual competitions for the first two editions received excellent participation, even from neighbouring countries. With the support of partners like Jio Institute, Spotify India, and The Delhi Audio Factory, we took the event to the physical realm for the third edition in September 2023. As the first National Podcasters Competition, we’re proud of our successful third edition, but we believe there’s much more to achieve in the future; and miles to go before we sleep!
